From Jordan’s Pryde
“Hey, I thought you had a date,” Jordan said, looking away from the television to his boss.
“I was, but she wasn’t that interesting.” Duncan stared at him for a long minute before walking further into the room and sat down beside him on the sofa. “What are you watching?”
“The news.”
They continued to look at each other and Jordan had to force himself to look away. He could feel the heat from Duncan’s eyes boring into him. Jordan did not dare look back at the other man. It was too tempting. He wanted to lean closer and rest his head on Duncan’s chest. He knew the minute Duncan looked away, and he wasn’t sure if he was relieved or disappointed. They stayed like that for the rest of the night, neither pushing for the need to converse.
Jordan woke sometime during the night, he kept his eyes closed, but could tell that the television was still on. He was comfortable and warm; he really didn’t want to move. He buried his face deeper into the pillow under his head when he realized something was off.
Snapping his eyes open and lifting his head, he looked down shocked to realize his comfy pillow was Duncan, who was fast asleep. He was handsome awake and even more while he slept. His long eyelashes touched his cheeks. Jordan reached out to touch his cheek but stopped himself.
Fuck, what the hell am I doing?
Slowly, Jordan got up and turned off the television, he pulled the blanket hanging on the back of the couch over Duncan then made his way up to his room.
Here’s what people are saying about Jordan’s Pryde
Jordan has his hands full when he interviews for this particular job. He has the skills and he knows what he wants right up until he meets the new boss. Now Duncan is a busy Alpha and he needs things to run smoothly for him after his loss and the way his life has been turned upside down. Together they have to find their way through all of the minefields and escalating problems that surround them. I love their dynamic even though it takes them a while to get to it. The surprise that awaits them when the truth of things comes out and the dangers of the past that rear their heads put everything to the test. I love the support of the friends and the close family that surround them and how everyone comes when things get dicey. It was an amazing book and I can't wait for more. 5 Stars
This is my first book by this author and I'm glad someone recommended it. Jordan answers the call for his dream job, meanwhile Duncan is over his head with two new pups in the house. Jordan seems to be the answer to their prayers. But Jordan is not what he seems and some skeletons in his and his family's closet are revealed.
I enjoyed the development of the connection between the two and the additional side characters as well, especially the niece and nephew so freaking cute. Duncan definitely tried to take care of Jordan but found out that he should include him more. Overall great read and I'll for sure be reading the next book. 5 Stars
From Ryland’s Inferno
The doorbell rang one more time. Sighing Blayze pushed off the couch and went to see who was at the door. It was probably one of the neighbors who wanted to see his parents about something. Their closest neighbors, the Parkers, were still a thirty-minute drive and often stopped by to chat with his dad about this and that.
A small smile appeared on his lips thinking of his adoptive parents. In some ways, from what he could remember, Janet reminded him of Fatima with her kind and giving heart. They might live minutes apart from their neighbors but there was always a pie baking in the oven to take over to someone.
Blayze growled when the doorbell rang again. He wondered if it was one of his friends from high school who found out he was home and was impatient and wanted to see him. There weren’t a lot of his friends around because, like him, they chose careers that would be perfect for them instead of becoming farmers.
But there was at least one or two who’d stuck around and took over the daily operation from their parents like his high school crush, Troy Forester. He opened the door and his eyes instantly widened at who was standing in front of him.
Shit, how did he find me?
He should have known, it wouldn't have taken Ryland long to find him. Blayze never talked about his personal life with anyone in the pack. He’d kept to himself as much as he could but became one of the members of Duncan’s inner circle.
I lied for so long about what I was because I wanted to be a part of the pack.
“How did you find me?”
“It wasn't easy,” Ryland told him with that sexy, cocky-ass smirk that Blayze didn’t want to admit he’d missed.
Sexy fucking bastard. The same thought always comes to his mind whenever he was around the man.
“But I'm damn good at my job, baby. You of all people should know that.”
Ryland took a step forward just as Blayze took a step back. Ryland took another step and again Blayze took a step back and hit the banister.
“We can't do this, not here, not now.” He looked up into Ryland’s light brown eyes.
“What do you think we’re doing?”
“Huh?” The man was so fucking good-looking, perfect milk chocolate complexion and a smile that made him weak in the knees even if he’d never admit it out loud. Blayze didn't want to talk about the main reason why Ryland was there.
“I said, what exactly do you think we are doing?" Ryland asked raising an eyebrow.
"You know what I mean," Blayze said hoping Ryland would get back into his car and back to Cypress Prince Island.
"Want to know what I was thinking about on my way here?" Ryland asked him.
"What’s that?”
"This is the last time I'm going to let you run from me, Blayze.” Ryland looked into his eyes feeling as if he was being hypnotized by the other man.
“I’m not running from anything,” Blayze defended, finally finding his voice, not admitting to the slight squeak in his voice.
“I'm tired of having you deny what is between us, you are my s—”
“I can't be your saladis amans,” Blayze interrupted Ryland before he went any further. He didn’t admit that there could be some emotions between them that might be more than friendship.
“Oh, but you are.”
“Ry, please,” he whispered.
“When are you going to face your feelings instead of running away from them?”
“I just told you that I’m not running away from anything. You just can’t accept the truth. Besides, you know what I am, I'm sure Duncan and Jordan told you what I am. About being from a different sect.” He looked away from Ryland. It hurt too much to look at the other man.
Here’s what people are saying about Ryland’s Inferno
I loved this story. Blaze is a dragon, a draconian who lost his parents when he was 6. Ryland was Blazes mates and destined to be together. They had many trying experiences but these two men (dragons) end up with 5 children from others and Blaze is pregnant with their 6th. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves dragon love stories with mm characters and definitely hea’s. 5 Stars
I am so enjoying this story. I love how it has one overarching bad guy but their connection to each character is unique. So much goodness happened in this book. Aside from ryland and blaze and the other side characters I absolutely loved what the kiddos in this story added to the book. Sometimes in books with a large amount of characters it's hard to keep track. That was not an issue with this book. This book takes some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. Can't wait to see what happens next. 5 Stars
